I have a Sin of Covetousness

I have a sin of covetousness
Lodging in my members
Never satisfied with possession within
But always satisfied with those without
That which I have isn’t good enough
But that which I lack is better off
The often I try, the often I fail:
To conquer and to win this war within.
Then that gentle Ancient Voice
Always say to me,
“As long you’re in this house of clay,
The battle will run its fullest course
Till the clay is mixed with sand
Then you’ll be free in the new land”.
