At Dawn you’re as Green as the Grass

At dawn you’re as green as the grass
But now you’ve lost the freshness of maiden lass
To the blazing sun and the nature course, unfold
Who have connived to take their toll on you not to behold
In spite of this, I can see some hope
That at Spring you’ll sprout anew finer than Job
For the glory of the latter will surpass the former still
And all your progeny shall be gathered by the wind
To sup with you in eternal bliss
Then all your years shall thus be killed
When the age be put to a halt never to return
You alone will conquer the stars, the moon and the sun
And all your greenness shall thus be restored
When all your foes have been caught and locked.
