To you my Dear, I Give my Pat

To you my dear, I give my Pat
For now I’ve come to know
That true friends aren’t those who brag
But a soul like you is made of gold
Thanks to the Trinity for counting you among
Just yesterday, you made me thrill
I know you may say to mention is wrong
Like a smile from a parting queen
Though short-lived, the memory lingers on
As long as souls can breathe, and read a poem
Not even time will break this alabaster box
Forgive me if I’ve sounded a poet
For good times do make men sound like one
And they turn philosophers when time makes them worn.
